Late Winter- Early Spring
In East Asian medicine, we are transitioning from the deep waters of the Kidney season into the rising wood energy of the Liver. From stillness into movement. From gestation into emergence.
This month’s message:
Movement reveals the answer.
If you’ve felt stuck, heavy, or unsure — this is not a sign to push harder. It’s a sign to move gently. To stretch. To walk. To breathe into your ribs. The Liver governs the smooth flow of Qi, and when we allow energy to move, clarity naturally follows.
Here are a few simple ways to support this transition:
Acupressure
• Liver 3 (Tai Chong) — Located on the top of the foot between the first and second toes. Massage firmly for 1–2 minutes to move stagnation and support clear decision-making.
• Kidney 6 (Zhao Hai) — Located just below the inner ankle bone. Gently press to nourish yin, calm the nervous system, and support deeper sleep.
Food as Medicine
• Favor light, gently warming foods.
• Invite a touch of sour — lemon in warm water, a spoonful of sauerkraut. Sour flavors help the Liver regulate and soften tension.
• Avoid extreme fasting or heavy restriction. This is a season of gradual awakening, not deprivation.
The wisdom of this time is subtle but powerful: you do not have to force the next step. Move your body. Let your Qi move. The answer will meet you there.
